Crete is a beutiful island with lots of interesting spots to see. We visited some of the smaller archeological sites and we were missing a more details descriptions of what we saw. For ex. the history behind the room and its use and general history about the biith and the eventual death of that specific place. For ex. the Malia Palace, who lived there, what was the palace used for, why people moved away from the palace and so on. God local network of busses. Greeks in shops are most of the time very grumpy, ill-mannered. It is a shame that shop owners/workers do not show a bit more politeness. Nowadays they are not keen at all to bargain. They say in a presumptuous way that, there are lots more customers that will come for things and services.

Nice hotel construction, formed by different buildings, it blended in well with the environment. The hotel has 4 *, we did not find this a 4 * hotel. Internet did not worked in the rooms. Plenty of sun beds. Cleaning was fine in the common areas, it was poorly in the bedrooms. We had several cobwebs in the rooms, we informed the hotel but nothing was done. The workers at the hotel were very nice and polite, always greetings and making one feel good. The area outside the hotel could do with some cleaning. Too many unpolite and rude Dutch boy groups. They were loud (at all times of the day), shouted to each other from one end of the other end of the room, burped loud by the pool and at the bar, didn't really cleaned up the rubbish after themselves. The hotel manager did intervene when pointed out (unfortunately not all the waiters did the same). The hotel manager was also good in asking people to get dressed when going into the restaurant and was being generally aware about the guests.
